As an all things Emma Bridgewater Lover; we really enjoyed last weekends light switch on. We go each year and usually it is a week day evening, Its still busy but nowhere near on the scale of the latest weekend launch. It was busy, super busy, to the point of people queuing for tables to sit at in the restaurant- but well worth it.

for those people local to the factory, it is an absolute must, Its always decorated beautifully and the staff are so welcoming.
This year, it all began at 2pm;. We headed as always straight to the seconds shop to browse the personalised selection- gutted that most of it was names and none of my lots! Following that, we had a lovely cuppa and a slice of cake- the cakes are phenomenal here and collectors club members get free tea and coffees-lattes and all the fancy ones too!

There was free clay Christmas decoration making for the children and this was seriously good fun. No painting or mess involved, A little bit like cookie rolling and cutting; but with clay. This was then beautifully put into a box and ready to take home to paint when it had dried. A great starter activity to then give you man easy crafting activity at home.
The light switch on was at 4.30pm and consisted of a lovely vicar from the local church on the keyboard and a group who had been singing in the shop as entertainment; leading popular carols. 200 carol sheet were given out and people were sharing, just to give you an indication of how many people were there. The carols were beautiful and made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside, My arms were killing as the only way to keep noah contained was to carry him most of the day! It amazes me that my arms aren't like a body builders by now. I just don't know where i am going wrong; probably the excess cake i eat!
Noah was a Party Animal- no other words can describe his behaviour- he full on danced to the carols and then way lucky to be selected with his new found friend- Mary- to turn the lights on. Honestly, i was a bulubering messy- i had that chocked up feeling you get when you all proud. He was only switching the lights on, not collecting an oscar but still, magical and unforgettable!

It wasn't an expensive event; other than if you go crazy in the shops and there were offers on in the decorating studio to paint a dove for £10. Those people from further a field, make a day of it; book a free factory tour (until the end of this year) and a decorating studio session (can be rebooked in advance) and then head to the cafe for delishhhh cake, quiche and sarnies. There are two more events that i can remember; reindeers in the courtyard on the 1st December and a living nativity on the 9th December, Head to the website to have a little look at wears on!
Oh and if you do go to any of these events, please tag me in your photo as i won't be able to come and would love to see what happened at these two events as they sound magical!
