This recipe is easy peasey, super quick and lovely and gooey.

Ingredients

250g of porridge oats

125g of soft brown sugar but caster will do if you don't have it in

150g of butter (stork or baking butter)

3-4 tbsp of golden syrup

Optional extras- glace cherries, candid peel, rasins, coconut flakes, chocolate baking chips/chunks (25g of each)

Method

1. Line a cake tin with greaseproof paper- i use an 18" circular tin.

2. In a pan, melt the butter.

3. Add the sugar and golden syrup and mix together, it should start to form one mix. take it off the heat,

4. Add in the oats and extra ingredients if you have selected any optional ingredients.

5. Bake for 15-20 minutes on 180degrees

Tip; you know when to take it out when the edges of the mixture begin to bubble and the flapjack looks golden brown.

Let the mixture set for at least 30 minutes and then melt white and mix chocolate to flick across for extra loveliness.

To melt chocolate- you can either break into chunks and zap in the microwave for 30 second intervals until melted or a pan of water (Only a quarter full) and a bowl over the top to break the chocolate into. stir until melted and use!
